Terms of Use
Last updated: 13 June 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Awwab mobile application and its companion Apple Watch app (together, “Awwab” or “the app”). By downloading or using Awwab, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
1. What Awwab is
Awwab is a personal tool to help you keep your daily prayers, reduce digital distraction, and support your spiritual growth. It is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Awwab on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the Apple Media Services Terms and these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or distribute the app except as allowed by law.
3. The Shield is a helper, not a guarantee
Awwab’s app-limiting “Shield” uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls to encourage you to pray before opening certain apps. It is a self-discipline aid, not a security control or a guaranteed block. It can be bypassed, disabled, or affected by system behaviour. You remain responsible for your own device use. Don’t rely on the Shield as a parental-control or safety mechanism.
4. Spiritual and prayer-time content
Prayer times are calculated from your location using standard astronomical methods and your chosen calculation settings. They are provided for convenience and may differ from your local mosque or authority. Please verify times locally where precision matters. Awwab is not a religious authority and does not issue religious rulings.
5. Heal is support, not medical care
The Heal feature offers encouragement and reflection for people working to change a habit. It is not medical, psychological, or clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are struggling with addiction, your mental health, or thoughts of self-harm, please seek help from a qualified professional or your local emergency services. Awwab is not a substitute for professional care.
6. Respectful use
Please use Awwab honestly and respectfully. Don’t attempt to reverse-engineer, tamper with, or misuse the app, and don’t rely on it in ways it isn’t meant for. We may limit or change features that are misused.
7. Your data
Awwab stores your content in your own iCloud and on your device — see our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your Apple ID, your device security, and keeping backups via iCloud. We do not hold a copy of your data and cannot recover it for you.
8. No warranty
Awwab is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculated times or reminders will always be accurate or delivered.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Awwab and its developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, missed prayers or reminders, or device issues, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app (which may be nothing).
10. Changes to the app and these Terms
We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. We may also update these Terms; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
11. App Store terms
Awwab is distributed through the Apple App Store, and your use is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and is not a party to these Terms, though Apple may enforce them as a third-party beneficiary where applicable.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable where the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer-protection rights you have under your local law.
