Common questions
Is my data private?
Yes. Awwab has no servers and no accounts. Your prayers, settings, and progress stay on your device and in your own private iCloud — we never receive them. The app has no ads or tracking. (This website’s Knowledge games do show Google ads, but the app itself does not.) See the Privacy Policy.
Which devices is Awwab on? Is there an Android version?
Awwab is available now on iPhone and Apple Watch, with Android coming soon. On iPhone your data syncs through your own private iCloud; on Android everything stays on your device with no cloud account, working fully offline. The Knowledge games will also be playable here on the website.
Does Awwab work without internet?
Yes. Prayer times and the Qibla are calculated on your device, so the core app works offline. Syncing your data between devices needs iCloud and a connection, but you can pray and log entirely offline.
How does the Shield (app blocking) work?
You pick the apps you want to hold back, and Awwab limits them until you’ve logged your prayer, using Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls. You’ll be asked to grant Screen Time permission the first time. It’s a gentle aid for your own focus — not a hard security lock.
I granted Screen Time permission but the Shield isn’t working.
Open Settings → Screen Time and make sure it’s enabled, then in Awwab re-open the Shield setup and confirm your app selection. If it still doesn’t apply, fully quit and reopen the app. Restarting your device resolves most Screen Time hiccups.
My prayer times look off.
Make sure Awwab has location permission (Settings → Awwab → Location) and that your calculation method and madhab are set correctly in the app’s settings. Times are convenience estimates — please verify against your local mosque where precision matters.
I’m not getting prayer notifications.
Check Settings → Awwab → Notifications are allowed, and that Focus / Do Not Disturb isn’t silencing them. Opening the app occasionally lets it refresh upcoming reminders.
My Apple Watch isn’t showing the latest data.
The Watch syncs with your iPhone over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi when the two are nearby. Opening the Awwab app on your Watch prompts an immediate sync. Keeping an Awwab complication on your watch face helps it stay current.
How do I delete my data?
Delete entries inside the app, delete the app to clear its on-device data, and remove its iCloud data via Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Awwab. We hold no copy, so that fully removes it.
I want to request a feature or report a bug.
Please do — email support@awwab.app. Your feedback genuinely shapes where Awwab goes next.
