From Adam, the first human and first prophet, to Muhammad ﷺ, the final messenger — twenty-five prophets are named in the Qur'an. Different lands, different centuries, one unchanging message: worship God alone.
Belief in the prophets is one of the six articles of Islamic faith. The Qur'an tells us that every nation was sent a guide, and that the prophets form a single brotherhood carrying one call — tawḥīd, the Oneness of God. Their total number is known only to God; twenty-five are mentioned by name, and Muslims believe in all of them without distinction.

The five of strong resolve
Five prophets are honoured as Ulul-ʿAzm — those “of strong resolve,” singled out in the Qur'an for their steadfastness through immense trials: Nūḥ, Ibrāhīm, Mūsā, ʿĪsā, and Muḥammad ﷺ. They are mentioned together in Sūrat al-Aḥzāb (33:7) and ash-Shūrā (42:13).
One brotherhood: the Prophet ﷺ said, “The prophets are brothers… their religion is one” (al-Bukhārī & Muslim). Each came to his people, but the core call — to worship the One God — never changed.
